Pet Rescue has 3 different game modes. Some levels can be a combination of these 3 modes. In all Pet Rescue levels, regardless of game mode, there is also a minimum score requirement that must be reached.
Objective: Pets are stuck at the top of the blocks. You must clear matching blocks to drop Pets to the bottom of the level.
In Rescue Mode, always keep an eye on where the pets are and how you can move blocks to drop them to a lower level. Take note of where the obstacles are and how they may affect blocks from dropping or sliding together. You may not be able to see the entire level – in order to see the blocks below the screen, you will need to trim the highest column(s) of blocks. It important not to leave single blocks in a tall column because they will prevent the screen from moving down and you will not be able to reach the bottom. Save the rocket as a last resort in case you get stuck. You will get bonus points for dropping additional animals to the bottom or for clearing the entire board. Remember, this is an extra and you usually do not have to clear all blocks to achieve the objective.
Objective: You must clear a certain percentage of blocks on these levels. Get rid of blocks by clicking groups of blocks that are the same color.
In Classic Mode, focus simply on grouping as many blocks together as you can. Plan out your moves starting from the beginning and look for easy ways to combine single blocks with other blocks of the same color. As levels get tougher, there will be more objectives that you will need to play around to combine your individual stragglers. Try to save your rocket for the end to get extra points. However, if you get stuck and cannot clear the required percentage of blocks, the rocket can also help reposition your blocks for better clearing.
Objective: You must reach a certain score with a limited amount of moves.
Puzzle mode is fairly straightforward. You only have a set number of moves for that level. Remove blocks to get enough points to pass the level. Some levels may also have animals, obstacles or combo blocks, which can also give you points. It is also a good strategy to try to use your moves to combine large sections of the same color. The more blocks you clear in one move, the more points you can get.
